Alexandra is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor (CPCS). She obtained her Masters of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Georgia in 2014 and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Clemson University in 2012.
Alexandra has 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. Alexandra is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Alexandra has also been trained in Trauma and Grief Component Therapy for Adolescents (TGCTA). The majority of Alexandra’s experience has been working with high risk youth and adolescents. Alexandra has experience working with crisis behaviors, suicidality, self-harm, depression, mood dysregulation, mood disorders, borderline personality disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity, oppositional defiant disorder, and anxiety. Alexandra truly believes that familial involvement in therapy is key to producing change with children and adolescents. Alexandra will often incorporate family sessions into treatment for that reason. Alexandra also believes in approaching therapy from a strength-based perspective in order to help children, adolescents, and families identify their strengths in order to utilize them to create positive changes in their lives.
