Emma is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR). Her focus is on young children and families, adolescent females and young adults struggling with identity, depressive, and anxiety disorders. Emma specializes in working with clients and families facing moments of transition, when the messiness of life can become overwhelming and symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, identity crisis, and low self-esteem can emerge. Her therapeutic style combines her training in art therapy and family systems therapy, with a creative, exploratory, supportive, interactive, non-judgmental, and collaborative approach.

Emma’s approach to therapy stems from the belief that every individual is a unique work of art; each with their own story, collection of struggles and way of interacting with the world. Her clinical priority is to collaboratively tailor therapy to highlight this individuality and develop a space where clients feel heard. Therapy sessions with Emma include insight-oriented art interventions and skills-based approaches to support clients with emotional expression and regulation to better manage daily stressors, relationships, and personal
obstacles. Emma brings special attention to the importance of relationships, bringing families into the therapeutic process and strengthening therapist-client connection.

Her therapeutic approach is rooted in attachment and person-centered humanistic theory and draws from her training and experience with art therapy and evidence-based psychological theories, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-based practices such as Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). As a trained trauma therapist Emma is aware of how the past can influence present symptoms and creates a therapeutic space for clients to securely explore and reframe these experiences.

Emma holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Art History from Emory University. As a licensed professional in both California and Georgia, Emma is committed to maintaining a culturally humble and inclusive practice.

Emma spends her free time reading, snuggling her calico cat, baking cookies, experimenting with art forms, doing yoga, and playing video games.
