Nakia Lewis

Nakia was born and raised in Georgia, where she developed a strong foundation in compassion, commitment, and leadership in her community.  She pursued her undergraduate studies at Jacksonville State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice.  Following graduation, Nakia dedicated nearly eight years to law enforcement, gaining extensive experience in various roles.  It was during her time in this field that she discovered a deep interest in counseling, realizing the importance of providing comprehensive support to individuals in need of resources beyond traditional law enforcement services.

Nakia continued her passion and attended University of West Georgia for her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  Nakia meets clients with warmth and understanding.  She believes in emphasizing strengths as a way to help clients achieve their goals.  She is creative and combines art with traditional counseling techniques so that her clients gain new skills in a fun way.

Nakia works with children, adolescents, and teens who struggle with emotional regulation, flexible thinking, social & emotional skills, ADHD symptoms, and navigating life challenges the  influence of peers.  Nakia is committed to equipping herself with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she walks alongside in their therapeutic journey.
